HOA Update

August 10th, 2010

Hello! I hope everyone is staying cool in this hot summer!

I just wanted to give an update regarding our donations for mowing this summer. We currently have $88.00 in the bank account. This leaves of $2.00 short of another mowing. It looks like we will still need about three mowings to finish of the season.

Thanks to those of you who have contributed to helping this year. Donations of any amount are appreciated. Feel free to drop donations by my house or in the mail to 8109 E. Norman St. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
Nicole Ezell

Keeping You Updated

Nicole added this comment to a previous “post” of mine and I just realized that it doesn’t show up as its own entry, just as a comment. So, I’m adding it as a main entry so more people will see it. If you would like “Posting” privileges (instead of just commenting), let me know and I will add your email as one that can “post”.

My name is Nicole Ezell. As Paul mentioned in the previous newsletter my husband, Michael, and I are collecting funds and scheduling the mowings for our neighborhood entrances.

We have lived in
Ridgeway Heights
for almost five years. We love the area and the neighborhood!

As of today, we have received donations from thirteen families. In years past, we have averaged 12-15 mowings for the season. We currently have enough funds for four mowings.

I think we are off to a really good start. I want to thank those of you who have already contributed. If you are able to contribute, feel free to drop a check off at our house or in the mail at
8109 E. Norman Street
.

I'll try to post more thoughout the season in order to keep everyone up to date on our mowings, etc.

Thank you,
Nicole

Ridgeway Heights Volunteer Homeowner Association News

A little bit of history…..The Ridgeway Heights Volunteer Homeowner’s Association was formed 3 years ago mainly to keep the entrances (Midway Rd & 71st Street) to the neighborhood mowed & trimmed. The city does not have the resources to keep it mowed more than once or twice a summer and it was starting to get very overgrown. We initially tried to get volunteers to take turns mowing, but at the very first meeting it was apparent that we did not have the volunteers & resources for that to work. So, we decided to collect money on a volunteer basis to pay someone to mow for us. With 180 homes in the neighborhood, if everyone gave a little, we could have it done for us. Because not everyone will contribute, the dues that we suggest are $22 per house per year. Each year, we have around 50 of the 180 homes that contribute. Some contribute a little, most about $25, and a few give more. Any size and all donations are appreciated. We only spend what we collect, so sometimes the mowings are spaced further apart. We have done a few other things too — such as neighborhood block party, neighborhood watch (need to get this started back up), and neighborhood wide garage sales — all paid for by donations from vendors/sponsors. The money we collect is spent 100% on the neighborhood. There are no administration fees/expenses at all — even the checking account set up is free.

As you may or may not know, I moved out of the neighborhood last year. While I am no longer living here, that doesn’t mean I have left it. I will still distribute the monthly newsletters and help with the Volunteer Homeowner’s Association. A few of you have noticed that I missed the last few newsletters — that was due to being busy & poor weather. I am resuming them now and there will be very little difference from previous years.

IMPORTANT!
One thing that is changing is that this year Nicole & Michael Ezell are going to be helping/coordinating many aspects of the HOA. They have lived in the neighborhood for almost 5 years and are great. They live at 8109 E Norman St. Nicole will be collecting/depositing the dues and coordinating the mowings.

Our goal this year is to have at least 90 of the 180 homes in the neighborhood to join. The suggested donation is $22/year, however, any amount you can contribute is appreciated. Please make checks payable to Ridgeway Heights HOA and you can either mail them to Nicole & Michael Ezell at 8109 E Norman St, BA, OK 74014 or drop them by their house.

If you have any questions at all, please call me at 688-0867 or send me an email at paul@paulmattke.com.

HOA News -- September 8, 2009

Mowing & Voluntary Dues — We are currently down to $30 in the bank. Each mowing costs us $90, so we are needing at least $60 more dollars to have one more mowing before the end of the season. Ideally, we will probably need 2 or 3 mowings, but we can only do what we have the money for. If you have been meaning to donate, but haven’t got around to it, please donate whatever you can as soon as possible. Please mail it to PO Box 140614, BA, OK 74014 or call me at 688-0867 for me to pick it up.

Changed location, but not gone!
As many of you probably already know, I have sold my home here in Ridgeway Heights and moved into a temporary home while we anticipate building a home a little bit further east. I have lived in Ridgeway Heights for 11+ years and it was a time for a move to a house with a little bigger lot. While I no longer live here in the neighborhood, that does not mean that anything with the voluntary HOA or newsletter will change. I have been distributing the newsletter for 7+ years and will continue to do so. This is the 3rd full year of the voluntary HOA and I believe it has been very successful in keeping our neighborhood looking good. I hope that you will continue to support it the rest of this year and in the future. Without your support, it would not be possible to keep the entrances mowed & trimmed.
